Musk's X Company plans to hire 100 content moderators in Austin by year's end

The Elon Musk-controlled company announced its new Center of Excellence for Trust and Safety ahead of a Jan. 31 U.S. Senate hearing on online child sexual exploitation. X CEO Linda Yaccarino will work with Meta PlatformsMETA, SnapSNAP, TikTok and Discord’s CEOs testified together.

Since Musk acquired Twitter in 2022, the billionaire has been criticized for his controversial posts and efforts to overhaul the platform's content moderation policies.
X said in a blog post on Friday that it suspended 12.4 million accounts last year for violating rules prohibiting child sexual exploitation, up from the 2.3 million accounts it suspended in 2022.
X said the new Austin center will also help the company combat other types of harmful content.
